The University of Florida project team has been coordinating with public officials and planners in the Levy County government, the cities of Cedar Key, Yankeetown, and Inglis, and the Withlacoochee Regional Planning Council. We hope to broaden communication and coordination with business and nonprofit groups, public land managers, and individual citizens in the Fall of 2012 as we hold the community workshops and participate in the Cedar Key Seafood Festival (Oct 20-21) and Yankeetown Seafood Festival (Nov 17-18).
This Project
Examines scientific studies and oral histories of past, current, and future coastal change in Levy County, including the possible impacts of sea level rise, and engages citizens and decision makers in identifying adaptation strategies.-
